During the Fall of 2022, the UWM School of Architecture and Urban Planning in partnership with Wells Concrete ran the Wells Sponsored Studio. We worked closely with Matthew Foote and Bria Lange from Wells to guide the students through the design process. Engineers from Wells gave the students a lecture on the basics of precast at the beginning of the semester. During the semester students visited the Waukesha office to present their work and receive overall feedback from the engineers at Wells. Following the presentations at the Wells offices students visited the Valders plant to see how the various precast products were produced. Following these two event students met with engineers weekly to develop the details of their total precast.
