The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program was developed in 1996 at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). Since then, the program has expanded to the New Jersey Institute of Technology, California State University – Chico, and Texas State University. Most students graduating from this program at NJIT find employment with ready mix producers as they have little exposure to precast and prestressed concrete materials and methods in the current CIM curriculum.

Through close collaboration and input from industry partners, the School of Engineering and Applied Technology at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, will implement 3 new required courses and 3 new elective courses that will be integrated into the CIM program and School of Architecture. Approximately 300 students from five majors (4 engineering majors of the 10 offered at NJIT) will attend precast courses over their 4-year degreed program starting in the fall semester of 2021.
