David Garber has brought precast concrete into a hybrid learning experience at Florida International University. He modified Prestressed Concrete Design to be offered as an Online LIVE modality for Spring 2022 and as Online LIVE and Certified Hybrid modalities for Spring 2023. An Online LIVE course is fully online, hybrid course with both asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences. A total of 46 videos from 734 slides were created for asynchronous lecture materials. The videos created for this course were uploaded to YouTube® and have over 135,857 views (as of 1/25/23). A total of 543 pages of typed notes created for this course were modified to meet modern accessibility requirements.
Additionally, students have had some hands-on experiences by touring plants and taking part in the PCI Big Beam Competition.
