Episode 103: Emily Schaeffer, University of Minnesota Duluth

Emily Schaeffer shares her experiences earning the Resilient Precast Concrete Undergraduate Certificate at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. The senior in the school of engineering has completed most of the classwork for the certificate and has worked with three professors at the school on various aspects of precast design and construction, and will finish off her work with the business course next semester.

This is a unique program that gives students the opportunity to collaborate directly with Molin Concrete Products, a national leader in this field. They will be exposed to precast concrete during an introductory reinforced concrete course and refine their knowledge in more advanced courses, through participation in a Big Beam competition, and as part of a senior design capstone project.

Molin Concrete typically provides tours of their production facilities and job sites to connect classroom experiences to reality for our students.

For more information on the program, check out the school's website.
