Studio Success Story– Meet Alex Fiebiger from Minnesota State University, Mankato to Wells Concrete
Educating tomorrow’s engineers, construction managers and architects impacts the precast concrete business today. Here is the story of Minnesota resident Alex Fiebiger. Alex was introduced to precast at a Foundation-funded studio at Minnesota State University, Mankato and today works as an engineer at Wells Concrete.
Q: Tell us about learning about precast while you were a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
A: I entered college with a desire to learn about structures and left with a wealth of knowledge and a finely tuned career path. My professors were hands-on and through the PCI Foundation precast studio courses I visited job sites, production facilities and built professional relationships in the industry.
Q: Now that you have graduated and are working as a Design Engineer at Wells Concrete, how are you using what you learned in the PCI Foundation Studio?
A: Working at Wells Concrete is an unbelievable experience. I have an opportunity to see the entire lifecycle of our product, from proposal to jobsite and everything in-between. I am learning about inefficiencies and how my role as a design engineer can improve or eliminate them.
